The Silverado relies on a new, smart exhaust brake system to slow the truck on descents, most notably proven by engineer Brent Deep's tow of a 20000 lb trailer for 245 miles between Denver, CO and Grand Junction, CO without hardly touching the brakes. Chevrolet has said that the model will go on sale in the summer of 2010.

2007 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab 5.3L Z71 4x4. Had Maxxis Buckshot Mudders 275/70 R17 on the truck. They had about 32000 miles on them. Ran em hard and did plenty of donuts and burnouts with em, so I'd say they lasted pretty well! Performance mods include K&N Intake, dual flowmaster exhaust, Gibson headers and HP custom tune.
